Each report is a one-page PDF that confirms whether hail, damaging wind, or significant snow affected a specific property on a specific date. We pair official NOAA weather data with nearby ground reports, state a plain verdict (detected or not), and give a confidence rating — so carriers, adjusters, and policyholders can work from the same objective facts. Reports are typically delivered in under a minute.
We read NOAA MRMS MESH radar — the National Weather Service's gridded estimate of maximum hail size — across the full day of loss, taking the value at the property and the largest value within 1, 3, and 5 miles. We then cross-check it against official SPC/NWS hail reports near the location.
Flagged when estimated hail reaches 0.75" or larger at or near the property.
We pull the peak measured wind gust from the nearest official ASOS/AWOS weather stations on the date of loss, and corroborate it with NWS/SPC wind reports within about 15 miles.
Flagged when a peak gust reaches 58 mph — the National Weather Service severe-thunderstorm wind criterion.
We read NOAA SNODAS gridded snow depth and snow-water-equivalent at the property, convert the water-equivalent into an estimated roof load (lb/ft²), and compare against the nearest stations' measured snowfall within about 25 miles.
Flagged when snow depth reaches 6" or more (significant accumulation).
Every report states how strongly the data agree, so you know how much weight to give it:
High — the radar or gridded estimate is corroborated by one or more independent ground reports nearby. Medium — the estimate is present but limited (for example, well above or near the threshold with no nearby ground report to confirm it). Low — the signals conflict or data is sparse (for example, ground reports exist but the estimate at the property is below threshold). The full reasoning is printed on each report.
